ARIZONA GOLF OVERVIEW

Arizona, golfers paradise, call it what you will but there are more spectacular Golf Courses and Golf Hotels and Spa Resorts here than you can shake a stick at. Or even a "Talking Stick", this golf course is rated Number 0ne in Arizona and the bonus is it's actually two uniquely different courses. They each offer many options according to the golfer's level of playing skill. Located on and owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the North and South courses blend with their tranquil desert surroundings to provide a wonderfully serene yet challenging day of play.

The North course is a Scottish links style course and will play longer with deep, well-placed bunkers.  The South course is a more traditional style golf course and has tree-lined fairways and four holes with excellent water hazards.

Whilst there are 350 golf courses in Arizona and they're not done yet, nearly half of the courses are in the Scottsdale - Phoenix area. Scottsdale has unbelievable resorts with courses to match. The really terrific side of Scottsdale, is that it is perfect for couples or small groups that have diverse interests. If one partner is into golf to the exclusion of all else that's not a problem as there is plenty to keep the other occupied, spa treatments to pamper the body and soul, swimming pools with exceptional desert views, hiking, four wheel driving, horse riding and even great shopping in nearby mega malls. To cap it all at the end of the day the two of you can enjoy superb dining in an array of restaurants that would make Paris proud. The best part though is you can savour your gourmet feast while watching the deepening, warm red glow of the desert sunsets.

The season for golf is year round but the best is in the balmy winter temperatures avoiding the hottest months of the desert summer. Further North from Scottsdale - Phoenix, lies Sedona, which is also higher in altitude and a little cooler in the summer. The area is a mix of glowing Red Rock and semi desert views mixed with rolling, alpine hills. In terms of sheer beauty there is little to compare with the views at Sedona Golf Course. The views are worth the trip alone. For the partner not into golf or the odd day away from the greens, a short drive away to the north is one of natures most impressive sights. Grand Canyon. At any time of year it is a fantastic sight but in the winter with a sprinkling of snow on the rim it is quite simply surreal.

Whatever and wherever you choose to stay and play, Arizona has a mix that will lure you to return year after year, just to allow you to sample all she has to offer.
