It's hard to find two sports as exhilarating and fulfilling as Skiing and Golfing. Combining Arizona with Colorado is the pinnacle of both. Lush, rolling greens tantalizing you in the distance while you stand, sizing up your shot, on the championship tees at Talking Stick or SunRidge. Tightening your buckles as you stand atop a challenging run at Aspen, Telluride or Crested Butte Mountain. Nothing could be better.... except to experience the two on the same vacation.
A few days or a week of golf and then another spell in the crisp clear air of the ski resorts is the ultimate in relaxation. No time to think about things back at the office or any domestic crises left undone!
There are really 2 simple ways to go into
this. You can take a few days playing golf in the Arizona resorts
and then fly with America West Express direct from Phoenix Sky
Harbor into either Aspen or Telluride airports. From there we
can arrange your transfers to your hotel and you'll be on the
slopes that afternoon or, in our view the best way, is to take
a day or two and drive North on the wide open, deserted roads
to the snow in Colorado for another week or so. The drive is spectacular
and we recommend that you take in the truly awesome Grand Canyon
and the breathtaking drive through the towering monolithic towers
of Monument Valley, both at their best in the winter with less
people around and the air is so much clearer without that summer
haze. We arrange everything for you, just turn up and drive!
In a few places you can ski in the morning and play golf in the afternoon but that might just be a little too hectic! Still, if that's what you want we can do it for you at places like Sedona and the Arizona Snow Bowl or The Links at Sierra Blanca and Ski Apache in New Mexico, a good sized and unknown ski resort owned by the Mescalero Apache tribe. They also have a great Golf course that is open most of the year except in the snowy winter season.
